Belgian-Style Tripel 9.0% ABV
The Belgian-style Tripel is said to be one of Belgium's stronger and more esoteric top-fermenting specialties. Our Tripel is copper-colored, fruity, spicy, mildly sweet and soft, with the alcohol concentration of a table wine. The time in the barrel has not only given the beer elegance, but has imparted subtle oak and wine character as well.
Grand Cru 9.0% ABV
World Beer Cup 2008 Gold medal
This beer exemplifies the best Upstream has to offer. It is the same beer as the Tripel, but the special Belgian yeast (the same yeast responsible for the unique character found in Burgundy wines) added during maturation lends a distinct earthy character to the beer. The aroma displays a strong earthy character, and the flavor shows off the complex blend of citrus, honey and oak.
Lambic-Style Gueuze
Great American Beer Festival 2005 Bronze medal
and 2008 Silver medal
This is a Belgian wheat beer fermented with a variety of wild Belgian microflora, which are responsible for the sour character in this beer. However, there is more to be found than just sourness -- sweet malt, citrus and even a touch of honey are the backbone of this untamed beer. Once you try it, you just might love it. And once you love it, there's no going back.
